I’ve been back in Chicago this week and in a rush to get back in track with school.
Found out Monday that my Accounting final will be this coming Monday. Econ final is still in two weeks from today. I have a Marketing Research paper for my online Marketing class, as well as an online final that I need to figure out how to study for.
This week, I just need to focus on my Accounting final and this paper so I can hit the last two exams full strength.
I’m missing a part of Memphis quite a bit, particularly a one Ashley. It’s been a while since I’ve had someone make me smile, I’m just enjoying that right now.
Railing, originally uploaded by TTLStuicide.
I don’t know what it is about this photo but I think it’s the best photo I’ve ever taken.
Personally, I love the street in the background, the clarity of the rail in the foreground, the rust on the rail, and how the rail is angled and not perfectly straight.
I wish all of my pictures could have this kind of feeling to it. But I am glad that I’m capable of capturing a cool picture every now and then.
Windy City – 1
Umbrella – 0
Last night I was walking a few blocks back to my apartment and it was sprinkling, so I pulled out my umbrella (which I carry religiously now ever since the unfortunate “No umbrella and it’s pouring out” incident of Sept ‘07) and started walking back. Chicago does not want you to carry an umbrella. I fought the wind for as long as I could, but about a block away from my apartment it finally flipped and broke one of the support arms.
Touche Chicago, Touche! You got me this time, next time I won’t be so naive. Consider the battle begun.
Yesterday I was off on a mission to the W hotel so I could buy a flask.
I was a block away from my destination when the street was blocked off. They were shooting a scene for The Dark Knight.
I couldn’t see very clearly, but there was a podium in the middle of the street, and a lot of police officers in their dress uniforms for the crowd. I would believe it was either the Police Commissioner, the Mayor, or Harvey Dent giving the speech, probably a combination of the three. It was really cool to see, and it was only a few blocks away from my place. It was a gorgeous afternoon and the street they chose was surrounded by enormous buildings. It’s going to look great when the movie comes out sometime in 2008.
